Becky, the Happy Japan 701

Life has thrown plenty at me lately, but this week I chose joy. The laundry renovation has turned into a soul crushing, cringe inducing cost that I am disheartened by but also grateful that I can resolve.

I finally brought home my dream embroidery machine-- a Happy Japan 701. To most, it may look like just a machine. To me, it's a reminder that even in the middle of challenges, I still have the spark to dream, create, and find joy in the process.

In keeping with tradition, I name all my new sewing machines after women that changed my life. So her name is Becky, after Becky Hanes, the high school administrator who refused to give up on me. Because she didn't give up on me, I didn't give up on myself.

Grateful today for the chance to invest in myself and keep moving forward with creativity and gratitude.
