I’m Joya, a recovering attorney, lifelong maker, and firm believer that almost anything can be improved with better lighting, a power tool, or an unreasonable amount of detail.

I spent a few years practicing special education advocacy before stepping away from law during COVID when I was pregnant with my daughter. I always said that once she started kindergarten, I would either go back to practicing law or finally do something with the thousands of projects, ideas, photos, and half-finished experiments I had accumulated over the years.

Crafting won.

Weekly Craft is where I share all of it: sewing, embroidery, laser cutting, 3D printing, parties, Halloween insanity, interior projects, furniture makeovers, gifts, things that worked beautifully, and the occasional idea that probably should have stayed in my head.

My style is somewhere between Martha Stewart and Dolly Parton, with a little functional maximalism thrown in. I like things beautiful, useful, personal, and just slightly overdone.

I am not here to sell you a perfect creative life. I am here to make things, try things, occasionally screw them up, and hopefully inspire you to make something too.
